Wisdom Healing Arts
I love the creation process of Trauma-Informed Astrology classes. I am excited to be offering more of these classes starting in February of 2021. Let me know if you are interested!
In addition to these great modalities mentioned above, I have been very blessed to have a special blend of heart teachers and spiritual mentors - in Western teachers and Tibetan Lamas. Therefore, I love how meditation informs my bodywork practice. It enhances my intuition, gives me clarity in the midst of challenging inner states (in my clients) and it increases my own resiliency to be present with whatever my clients are presenting.
The modalities Working with the Polyvagal System (also known as Vagus nerve work) and Somatic Experiencing allow me to work with many nervous system issues - anxiety, insomnia, digestive issues, reducing tension, etc. Plus I offer Visceral Manipulation if there is a need - restoring healthy function to the visceral organs (Stomach, Spleen, Liver, Gall Bladder, Intestines, Colon, Bladder, Uterus, Kidneys) plus being able to support Lung, Heart and Immune function.
I also specialize in working with early developmental issues, having studied Pre- and Perinatal Psychology or PPN Work since 2013. This work is especially beneficial for people who are feeling stuck, confused or if they have mysterious ailments which the allopathic medical community calls "idiopathic" or unknown causes. Sometimes the root of illness stems from unexpressed or stuck emotions. In fact, newer research is beginning to show how some types of trauma require body-oriented therapies to heal - especially early, pre-verbal wounds. And in assisting and offering Birth Process Workshops to clients, it is often the case that early, prenatal or birth-related issues stay with us until they are repaired, acknowledged and resourced - even lingering for decades! This is powerful work, ideal for someone who has done some personal growth work already and is ready to deepen their awareness and journey on this potent healing path.
(* I work with my client's health, coaching and holding sacred space for them to heal themselves and discover insights about how to untangle these pernicious inner knots. I do not claim to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any diseases outside the scope of my license or practice.)
I love what I offer - nearly every session is individualized and different. I work with the intention of the client, my only agenda being to offer authentic support and to benefit the people who come in.
How can receiving a Bodywork treatment benefit you? The modalities listed above have been beneficial for the following illnesses and issues:
- Migraines and Headaches
- Chronic Neck and Back Pain
- Nervous Energy Issues (Compulsive Behavior, Insomnia, Anxiety issues)
- Digestive Issues
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Stress and Tension Related Problems
- Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
- Head and Brain Injuries
- Spinal Cord Injuries and Issues
- Central Nervous System Disorders
One Hour Polyvagal Processing session (can be over long distance). If doing work over distance, it is ideal if we have worked together in person previously. This is the price for continuing sessions - the initial session includes an Intake Interview and that goes 90 minutes.
Why Receive Bodywork treatments?
Kirby recommends giving the bodywork a minimum of three sessions to begin to see lasting results. And if you go with five sessions, then you can ensure that the full protocol is covered. Then if you want to go deeper, you can commit to seven to ten treatments or more.
Bodywork treatments will leave clients relaxed and more in touch with their bodies (moving toward healthy embodiment). Some of the best results are from clients who report literally feeling and / or seeing healing light moving in and through their bodies as they process and shift rapidly toward ease and well-being. This does not occur for everyone, but it is certainly possible.
Kirby offers sessions both in person and remotely - via Skype or Zoom. Contact him today with questions or inquiries!
